Pipa Social

Pipa Social is an NGO that created a talent bank of artists, artisans, and fashion designers that live in the favelas of Rio de Janeiro to help them access new markets.
Problem: To give the artisans formal work training, Pipa Social and their designers develop clothing collections and accessories that the artisans produce and sell at a fair price. To create the 2013 collection Pipa needed working capital.
Solution: SITAWI lent R$30 mil in junho 2013 to produce the pieces.
Social Impact: Pipa Social has more than 90 artisans in their talent bank and with the loan SITAWI hopes the number will grow.
