Cristóvão Alves is chief analyst at SITAWI, where he started his activities in 2013, working on research and consulting projects for financial institutions, institutional investors and NGOs. In this period, he prepared socio-environmental analyzes and valuations of about 200 companies listed in Brazil and Latin America. He developed a method for evaluating socio-environmental risks in credit, already applied to 33 sectors and (co) authored articles and publications on responsible investments and sustainability.
He has been an associate researcher at the Electrical Sector Studies Group at UFRJ, where he worked on R&D projects in the electric sector for Brazilian utilities. Previously he worked with commercial and antidumping defense at Placon Consultoria e Planejamento and at the controlling department of Mongeral Aegon Seguros e Previdência.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree (cum laude) and a Master’s degree in Economics from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, and he is a CNPI analyst, certified by APIMEC. In 2016 and 2017 he was among the top 20 socio-environmental analysts in the world, according to Extel’s Global Independent Research on Responsible Investment.
